Giemon Kurume Main Store is scheduled to hold a 40th anniversary event from November 8th (Wednesday) to November 16th (Thursday), 2023.
To coincide with the event, we are currently having Yamamura Kasuri Kobo weave a special 40th anniversary pattern.
Special pattern “Memory” commemorating the 40th anniversary of Giemon Kurume Main Store
The casual ``40'' pattern was completed by the expert technique of Yamamura Kasuri Kobo.
It was difficult to match the small size of the pattern, especially the round part, but they were able to weave it very beautifully.
Warp 60/2
Weft 20/1 combed yarn
The thread used is thin 60/2 for the warp threads to give a supple finish.
We use 20/1 combed yarn for the weft, which has less fuzz and has a glossy feel.
When dyeing, the pattern part, which normally appears white, was slightly beige to give a softer impression, and both the warp and weft were dyed twice, which was a labor-intensive process.
This "Memory" fabric is available in two colors.
Next time I will introduce another color.
