Mayurau is a hideaway gallery shop located in a residential area close to Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto, which is registered as a World Heritage Site.
This gallery attracts the attention of fashion-conscious Kyoto residents, as it irregularly displays antique goods, pottery, paintings, and other items to create a unique atmosphere.
This time, we will be exhibiting and selling Okamoto Shoten's Kurume Kasuri works at Mayurau's wonderful gallery.
The artistic aspect of Kurume Kasuri and the natural, soft feel of cotton and linen.
Okamoto Shoten's ideas on "creation" and the universal "values" of Kurume Kasuri, which has been around for over 200 years
Born in Japan, it is a product that we want to convey to the modern world, where times have changed and diversity of values is being called for. "The value of things that only Japan has."
We are looking forward to seeing you all.
Additionally, as a highlight of this event, we will also be holding a "Custom Pants Order Event" where you can choose your favorite Kurume Kasuri fabric and create your own original pants.
In addition, we have brought with us a large amount of Kurume Kasuri fabric, so this event will be enjoyable even just by looking at the fabric.
