In 1996, I was fascinated by Kurume Kasuri and started working for Giemon.

The elements of the design that I decided to make a dress with Kurume Kasuri were a kaftan design that stands straight on the extension of a kimono, gussets on the sleeves, indigo dyeing, hand weaving, slits on both sides, and color schemes for the cover, sleeve gussets, and pocket bag cloth. That's what it means.
When I first entered the Kurume Kasuri industry, I was first taken to a weaving shop, and I remember being moved by seeing the cloth being woven by hand up close.
I can't forget the slow world view that is inversely proportional to the times. 
Around 1996 , I started to have a mobile phone, bought my first Apple computer, and was about to enter the new era of digital society.
The world of Kurume Kasuri is an analog and slow world that is the exact opposite of the new era. Every day was exciting and fun for me, who was always obsessed with the opposite charm. 
I love fashion that mixes folk art and outdoor tastes, Kurume Kasuri dress, leggings, Patagonia outerwear, and Birkenstock sandals. It was an era when the styling was cool. Kurume Kasuri, which is slow and analog, is matched with a high-tech outdoor taste that emphasizes functionality.
At the age of 28 , I wore Kurume Kasuri, which was a little expensive, and wore it casually down for fashion. 
Even though I am 55 years old, I still love casual down fashion. Underneath the dress, you can enjoy a slightly elegant casual and easy elegance by matching loose pants. As for the outerwear, I like military items and mature work wear styling now.
Kurume Kasuri is a fabric that is sustainable even after 27 years.
At the same time, Giemon's craftsmanship is sturdy.
Kurume kasuri is a narrow woven fabric, so it is very important to do perfect design instructions, sewing patterns, and sewing without waste. Giemon's craftsmanship is the same meticulous design discussion and calculation as Kurume Kasuri.
