connection

When I was a child, I lived with my grandparents. My grandmother made pickles and rush mats, and my grandfather grew vegetables and rice.
The table is always lined with homemade pickles, fresh vegetables and rice,
The huts and vegetable gardens that were used as mat workshops were also my playgrounds.
After leaving home early, getting married, giving birth, and having no grandparents,
I no longer eat pickles, and it has become commonplace to buy vegetables and rice.
One day, when I was busy with time, I had the opportunity to come into contact with traditional crafts, which sparked my interest in handicrafts and crafts.

As I learned about the history and process of traditional crafts, I somehow remembered my grandparents.
The scent of handmade pickles, vegetables and rushes, the smell of soil, the sight of grandparents working in the fields,
Big wrinkled hands gently teaching me as a child,
The scene at that time was revived at once, and it became a nostalgic and warm feeling.
Although the things are different, the daily work has been done since my grandparents were children,
It made me feel that it was something that had been taught for generations, and I felt like I understood what my grandparents wanted to pass down and protect.

Traditional crafts are expensive and not readily available,
If you know the skills of the craftsmen and the time it takes to complete it, you can understand why it is expensive.
Above all, it has become an attachment that you want to use carefully for a long time.
I have no taste of home to pass on to my children,
I now regret that my grandparents never taught me
Instead, by teaching them to touch traditional crafts and handmade things,
I would like to convey the value of culture and the splendor of handwork.
to the next generation,
While hoping that it will be passed on to the next generation...
